From Hambleden Lock/Henley A4155
(You will not actually have time to get to Hurley if you have been at Hambleden)
From Henley you will pass through the village of Mill End on A4155 (where those doing Hambleden will park) continue on A4155 towards Marlow
Pass through Medmenham
Arrive village of Hurley
Park as best you can and then walk through the village past the pub towards St Marys Church. To the left of the church is a little path between the houses, follow this (don't follow Mill Lane). Cross over footbridge on to island and the lock.
PARKING - described by our co-supporters as "absolute nightmare - single track village road chockablock with cars". You may have to park a long way from the lock so be prepared for a 15-20 minute walk.
FOOD - There are a couple of pubs in the village and a farm shop on the walking route, where refreshment may be obtained
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE - if you got to Hambleden or are coming from Henley on the A4130 rather than the A4155, continue on the A4130 to Hurley. You are on the other side of the river from that of the people who are getting to Hurley on the A4155.

The next vantage point is Marlow Lock although you are pretty close (only half a mile) to Longridge Scout Camp and the end of Day 2 by now so Marlow Lock is an "optional" stopping point.
