From Longridge Scout Camp to Cookham Lock

Having collected your crew's overnight camping gear, leave the scout campsite car park, turn left.
Through Cookham Rise joining B4447 to Cookham
Follow signs to Cookham
In Cookham turn Left onto A4084 (Sutton Rd/Ferry Ln) then almost immediately right into Odney Lane.
Here you can park along the road before the gate across the lane.

You still have a bit of a trek, about 400m, to the portage.
Continue down the lane through the pedestrian gate and over the bridge (you are now on the large island).  Continue to follow the metalled track to the next bridge, cross over and follow the track around to the right, to the lock.
Cross over the lock (the paddlers will portage on this side).
It's an awkward portage, the banks are quite steep, but there are some steps (but they make kayak carriage  a bit difficult).
